Privacy Policy

Effective on September 4, 2026 · Last updated on October 12, 2026

Minimal version. This policy explains in plain language how Namoony collects, uses, shares and retains personal information, in a framework designed to reflect Québec's essential privacy requirements.

01 Service operator

Namoony is a digital service operated in Québec.

For any questions concerning the service or the processing of your personal information, you can contact us at:

Email: contact@namoony.ca

02 Person in charge of personal information protection

Namoony has appointed a person in charge of personal information protection to ensure compliance with applicable personal information protection obligations.

Title: Person in charge of personal information protection

Contact details: confidentialite@namoony.ca

03 Information we collect

04 How we use information

As part of that improvement, a limited number of authorized people may view the contents of a receipt when this is necessary to diagnose a failed receipt reading; such access is logged.

We do not sell personal information.

05 Providers and disclosures to third parties

We share personal information only when needed to provide the service.

06 Hosting and transfers outside Québec

Namoony's main data is hosted in Canada, including through Supabase in the Canada region. Receipt images and related data may however be sent to OpenAI in the United States to enable automated receipt reading. The service's emails, including the weekly summary of your spending, are delivered through Resend in the United States. Device notifications, if you turn them on, go through your browser’s or phone’s notification service, which may be located outside Canada; their content is encrypted and contains no amounts. Technical monitoring logs are hosted by Grafana Cloud in its Canada region.

When a transfer outside Québec or Canada is necessary, we limit it to what is required to provide the service.

07 Retention and deletion

While your account is active, we retain all of your personal information to provide the service, with two exceptions: notifications shown in the app (budget alerts, payment reminders, recaps) are kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically; technical logs sent to Grafana Cloud are kept for 14 days.

After 18 months of inactivity, we send you a notice and then delete your personal information.

If you voluntarily delete your account or send us an explicit deletion request at confidentialite@namoony.ca, your personal information is deleted immediately.

08 Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your account, withdrawal of consent where applicable, and portability of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.

You may also file a complaint with our person in charge of personal information protection. If you are not satisfied, you may contact Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

09 Cookies and audience measurement

Namoony uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the service to function. The namoony.ca website also uses Google Analytics for audience measurement, but only if you accept it through the consent banner. If you decline, no non-essential analytics cookie is placed.

10 Automated decisions

Receipt reading through artificial intelligence is used to extract and structure information. Namoony does not make decisions that produce legal effects on you exclusively through automated processing.

11 Minors

The service is not intended for people under 14 years of age.

12 Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or applicable requirements. The version in force is the one published on this page.
